Lake Maggiore Italy

Just near the Alps, in a wonderful natural scenery and rich vegetation, Lake Maggiore is the reference point for exciting tours. A charming discovery of majestic landscapes, a journey around pleasures, curiosities, uncontaminated environment, to relish unknown oases, cultural itineraries, archaeology, parks and natural reserves rich in flora and fauna, botanical gardens, castles, medieval villages, historical abodes…traditions, ecoturism and amusement, sports, tastes and traditional cuisine…a hospitable land, rich in history and culture where everything is still wrapped in silence, far from crowd, rich in emotions. A delightful place, to break free and dream…an unforgettable holiday! Come and discover all the magic Lake Maggiore can offer. Lake Maggiore, repository of the wealth and cultural patrimony left by the Borromeo family, is still testimony to their prestige and refinement which can be seen in their magnificent palaces with their impressive Italian gardens, and the imposing Fortress of Angera. The lake should be seen from the lake, and from the lake time seems to have stood still. The Monastery of Santa Caterina clinging to the rocky cliff; Stresa and the Borromeo Islands, small in size but rich in history, and the Castles of Cannero, island outpost of the Mazzarditi Brothers, infamous pirates of the Verbano, are just a few of the timeless examples awaiting the visitor. We are a few kilometres far from Valgrande Natural Park and just one kilometre far from Lagoni Park in Mercurago, with inside interesting routes for bikes or walking through horse-farms. Days as climbers on Monte Rosa Glaciers or days walking in relax through Alpe Veglia and the green Val Vigezzo (the Painters Valley) and Val Formazza with its evocative Toce Falls.
LAGO MAGGIORE EXPRESS TOUR

This is a charming full day excursion: first of all by boat from Stresa to Locarno, then with the narrow-panoramic train across the “Centovalli” and the Vigezzo Valley. From the terminus in Domodossola we will follow the river “Toce” back to Lake Maggiore.
